Trisha and Joey knew exactly what they wanted from the minute that they contacted us. We loved being able to bring their Speakeasy Engagement Session idea to life with them! These two are quite the pair: and after capturing them with good scotch and smoking cigars, we moved on to different locations around Saratoga Springs where they both have ties before ending at Skidmore college, where Trisha attended school for fours years.
What the couple has to say about each other: Trisha and I have a very special relationship. Often, two independent people cannot exist in a relationship, especially a long-term one. But over the past eight years Trisha and I have flourished, not only as a couple, but as individuals as well. We now see parts of one another in ourselves. While we’ve long known that we would get married, this is an important moment in our lives, the culmination of the values that have made this relationship possible. Our relationship is built from love, mutual respect, and undying care for each other — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Trisha and Joey’s best advice for other couples: take your time filling out the initial survey from The Harris Company on what your vision is. Without a vision, it’s hard for another person to capture exactly what you want. If you don’t have a vision, consult with your partner and brainstorm ideas. From there, bring your ideas to The Harris Company so they can help you determine what is most feasible and realistic. Secondly, be thoughtful about your shoot. It’s not just about beautiful pictures, but it’s also about you as a couple. What are your interests? Favorite places? Don’t just pick somewhere for the aesthetics, pick something that will have greater meaning to you. The importance of a location or activity will help put you at ease and make for even more beautiful pictures.
The Harris Company is not only extremely professional, but highly imaginative and creative as well. They possess a rare ability to make you feel comfortable and relaxed with your partner, all the while capturing perfect “in the moment” shots. Trisha and I enjoyed the ability to relax together and act like we normally would, while feeling confident that our photos were captured in a way that represented us as a couple.
