Best of the Best | Our Favorite Wedding Day Moments with Dad
June 13, 2019
The value of love and marriage is something we begin to learn and appreciate transparently through our parents. The love our parents show one another provides the universal foundation for us throughout our lives on how to love and care for another person. Even if we don’t realize it! We start to evolve this idea on how to love and how we want to be loved. This is well demonstrated for us by how our Dads care for our Mom. Dad has a big job. A Dads consistency to pick us up after every scraped knee, failure or heartbreak fills us with that comfort we hope to find when we finally meet that person of our dreams to share a life with.
Although a Dad is forever, and no one can take that spot, it comes close when a Father walks his daughter down the aisle and hands her off to that man she loves; who in return has promised to fill his big shoes. The years start to flash before your eyes. The first word, the first time she rode a bike, the first day of school. All the memories building that exact woman to be the beautiful and strong individual that stands before you.. is all flying by.
The moments between a father and son or father and daughter on the wedding day are so special to capture. For Fathers day this year, we wanted to show a little extra love to all the Dad’s out there. Grab the tissues! Here are some of our favorite ‘Dad’ photos from wedding day!
Hannah’s dad seeing for the first time on an already emotional day had us in tears. The whole family helped him look his best to see his little girl. Seeing Hannah’s grandpa wheel his son out of the house for his daughters wedding was heartfelt and heart wrenching at the same timeThis scene will forever be embedded in our memory. Hannah & Dan, sharing their vows, in a beautiful church, Dad watching from the side aisle. Morgan’s Dad “giving her away” and embracing Eric, welcoming him into the family. Sarah’s Dad, looking so proud, helping her out of the Cottage house!Stephanie and her dad shared a very special bond that was felt throughout the entire day. WE LOVED how Steph’s dad was even there to help his future Son in Law get ready at the Sagamore resort, nothing like a true welcome to the family!Litsa walking down the aisle, both her and her dad smiling cheek to cheek!Brittany’s dad so proud of how gorgeous his daughter looked (we agree!) at the Newport, RI wedding!Kate’s dad looking super dapper (and a little teary!) seeing her for the first time at their spring wedding at Lord Thompson Manor. That time, when Hilary saw her dad for the first time, and she started balling!! Or when Kate’s Dad officiated her ceremony, super emotional!Fallon & her dad had this excitement about them that was contagious!! Fallon walking down the aisle with Dad..all SMILES! A little humor for the rehearsal dinner toast.Haley’s Dad, had the absolute best reaction, seeing her for the first time!! Or these two dads helping each other out 🙂 This Dad, Steve, about to get married, sharing a special moment with his son. Mr. Reo helping his girl out of the car, and all the way down for the first look. What a stand-up guy!! Marissa looked STUNNING, I think her dad thought so as well! Perfect church procession with Mom & Dad!Followed by a beautiful heartfelt toast to the couple! The way Trisha’s Dad looks at her!! This just says it all!Their Dance Together! Epic!Hillary seeing her dad for the first time, the look on his face says it all! When Marissa’s Dad saw her for the first time, and noticed the giant Tacori ring Trey had gifted her as a wedding present, his stamp of approval. The long aisle at St. Pius church makes for a really emotional procession, and wonderful father/ daughter moments! We loved how for Logan’s father-daughter dance, they wrapped up by grabbing mom and kicking it up a notch!! Love it! Kate’s swing dance with her dad had everyone laughing and cheering!
We could go on for DAYS about all our favorite Dad moments on the wedding day! There’s one thing for sure, these special gentlemen are certainly underrated when it comes to the wedding day spotlight. Although they are typically humbly smiling from the sideline, we’d love to throw some recognition their way. Happy Father’s Day to all you amazing dads out there!
Independently lovely, and the perfect compliment to one another: passionate & confident. You love deeply and wistfully, present yourself with grace and gratitude, you are eloquent and understated yet always find room for a statement piece. Delicate yet strong, adventurous yet peaceful. You are loyal to your heart and find foundation in your family.
