As Wedding Photographers, we know that a Saturday wedding may seem like the only day you and your significant other can tie the knot. It’s right in the middle of the weekend, and typically a perfect time for not only you, but your guests to get together and celebrate. In reality, this is easily the busiest, most requested day by most (if not all) couples! 🤯 SO, why not weigh your options and pick a less popular wedding day?! By less popular, we don’t mean your wedding will be any less amazing or special. But think about it! By choosing a Thursday, Friday, or even a Sunday to “I Do”, there can be many perks and benefits for you and your soon to be bride or groom! 💍
You’re likely to have more options. 👏🏼 Because Saturdays are SO popular during wedding season, picking another day may be beneficial when choosing venues + vendors. During peak wedding season (typically between May – October), many of your options might become limited, especially if you are not planning far in advance. If you have your heart set on a beautiful location, or even find your dream photographer and their available dates are becoming slim, don’t be afraid to venture off and choose another day! We know this may not seem ideal at first, but TRUST us, the day of the week won’t matter years from now when you’re reminiscing on all of the memories made from your dream wedding. ✨
You’ll have more time with your out of town family + friends. 💕 Finding a date that works for every single guest is nearly impossible, especially if they don’t live near you and your venue! Planning your big day for a Saturday may sound like your best bet, BUT, there are definitely other days that may give you more time to celebrate with your loved ones! Planning a wedding for a Sunday could potentially mean that your guests from out of town can come up a night or two before your big day, that way you can have more one on one time before the craziness of the wedding. OR, planning for a Thursday or Friday could easily turn into a long weekend getaway for your friends + fam! Either way, we can assure you that Saturday is NOT the only day that your guests will be available, just be sure to plan ahead! 🥂
Friday Weddings mean you still have the whole weekend ahead of you! 🙌🏼 This might seem obvious, but tying the knot on a beautiful Friday afternoon surrounded by your loved ones means you (and your guests!) have Saturday & Sunday to relax + recover before the work week ahead. PLUS, your guests will come into your wedding with the “TGIF” attitude, and they will be SO beyond ready to celebrate you and your bride/groom! 🥂 What else could you ask for?!
Your day will stand out. ⭐️Since most Weddings tend to take place on Saturday’s, your day is instantly going to stand out to your guests by picking another day of the week to celebrate! Not to mention, you will easily be able to take untraditional approaches when planning your big day. For example, if you’re looking to have a smaller, more intimate experience, Thursday, Friday, or even Sunday afternoons are definitely the way to go! But of course, any size wedding will work with these days as well 🥳You could even incorporate different food stations instead of three course meals, unique games, epic photo booths…the options are truly endless!
When it comes down to it, your wedding day will be absolutely beautiful, timeless, and tons of fun no matter what day of the week you decide on. The ones you love the most will be there no matter what day you choose! If you are lucky enough to grab a Saturday before venues + vendors are booked, that’s amazing! 🙌🏼 But, don’t be discouraged if you end up going with an off peak wedding day. It’s not the day of the week that matters, it’s the unforgettable memories you’ll make with the most important people in your life 🥰 Be sure to keep an open mind, and weigh your options 💕
