A whirlwind of love! Jerry noticed Ashley while visiting Montauk Brewing Company with friends in the winter of 2017 and immediately asked her on a date. After a few weeks of getting to know each other, the two agreed upon brunch date which turned into a six-hour conversation of laughter. Neither of them wanted to leave the restaurant.
The date finished ended with a romantic walk around a small, quiet harbor nearby the restaurant. They were instantly hooked on one another – wondering how their paths did not cross sooner in life. The next year was full of exciting events – getting to know one another, spending beautiful holidays together, the birth of Jerry’s son Christian, lots of travel with learning and loving. This beautiful year culminated on April 22nd, 2018. Jerry planned his and Ashley’s one-year anniversary date at the restaurant where they met on their first date, Avino’s Italian Table in Bellport, New York.
He suggested heading to the same quiet marina they walked around for the first time together just over a year prior to watch the sunset. Mid-conversation, Ashley stopped to capture a few photos of a lonely boat in the marina, when her phone died. As she turned around, Jerry was down on one knee with the biggest smile on his face and a little box in his hand, asking her to spend the rest of their lives together.
The wedding encapsulates the story of this couple – fun, no matter what! The rehearsal dinner at their first date and proposal restaurant – Avino’s Italian Table – the groom’s family’s Italian restaurant. The extensive guest list and the rapid turnaround of the engagement to a marriage!
Every detail was well thought out and holds an extremely special meaning. Ashley grew up working at the Bellport Country Club, where this couple will tie the knot – the venue holds a special place in her heart. The seasonal menu items carefully harvested and selected by the chef and longtime friend Alonso Almeida; the beverages brought to you by the brewery that Ashley runs logistics and operations for, Montauk Brewing Company. Her Anne Barge dress was chosen specifically from Kinsley James in San Francisco – a store that her best friend works at ; the jewels hand crafted by a long-time friend of the bride, Lauren Decker.
Jerry grew up surrounded by water – fishing, boating and the beach – which comes strongly into play. The wedding day fully incorporated a laid-back and feel-good vibe, just what the two of them wanted. The backdrop of the photos and first look took place at Jerry’s father’s home in the harbor of Center Moriches. Nautical aspects surrounded the day in many capacities. The day is also a remembrance and celebration of the lives of Jerry’s mother, Carol and Ashley’s father Robert, both who are no longer with us. As they tell it, Ashley and Jerry came together for a reason and are truly meant to be together!
