Samantha Nass is a distinguished florist in our hometown of Saratoga Springs known for her delicate designs and provincial romantic approach to modern day bridal trends.
I adored shadowing her gracefully select pairings of florals in her brightly lit studio that smelled of succulents and botanicals. It was pure heaven.
Any chance I have to spend an afternoon surrounded by natural beauty (not just Sam, the flowers too!) I’ll take it.
Here is a little sampling of some new floral design brand photography we developed for her upcoming busy season.
“I found my studio one day as I was walking around town and saw a “for lease sign” in the window. It was a stoke of luck! I knew nothing about the building and as soon as I walked around the space I knew I had to take it! The studio is in a beautiful Victorian Mansion near Broadway. Already residing in it were a bridal and a high end boutique. I connected with the other business owners straight away and loved the “under one roof” concept of being located in a building with other companies working in the wedding business. It was the best decision I made for Samantha Nass Floral Design.”
“I start designing arrangements during my initial meeting with a prospective client. As they walk me through their ideas and preferred colors I start working through seasonally available flowers that would complement their style, venue and work with their budget. I ask a lot of questions to understand all aspects of what is important to the client and also where the flowers will be located. I think about the look we need to achieve, yet being practical and conscious to visibility lines and accessibility.”
“I love the journey I embark on with each of our clients in bringing to life their vision for their wedding day. I love that no two weddings are alike, therefore every week we are working on something new and fabulous; and most importantly that we get to be part in one of people’s most memorable day!”
“It goes without saying that our ideal client is someone who loves flowers, someone who appreciates aesthetics and someone who is also willing to explore new ideas! That being said, we offer rentals which allow us to also work really well with clients who are looking for mainly a candles/candelabra tablescape with flowers being supporting cast. ”
“Candles, candelabras and votives are a must on a tablescape and ideally with real candles! We pair based on the style of the couple… when we are working with an eclectic design contrast is key, however when the client is looking for something more classic and timeless we use pieces in the same color palette as the vessels used for the arrangements – usually crystal, mercury or mixed metals. If the budget allows I always suggest investing in linens rentals (which we offer) as they pull the tablescape together beautifully and help showcase the florals and other accouterments.”
